Fun times at Relay for Life! Back in April 2010

This year our family was a big part of Relay for Life. My father-in-law Sam Weaver was the honorary chairman. The Lake Placid Family Restaurant hosted the Survivor Luncheon and all Sam's grandchildren helped serve along with some of our other friends. My husband, Terry Weaver, did an awesome job on the presentation of the Hope Lodge and talked about the blog we created. A special guest by the name of True Story was also present. Very cool! He didn't even know he was part of the story. Actually the True Story.

We had a team called Loads of Hope. The name came from a bottle of Tide laundry detergent that was located in Sam's room at the Hope Lodge. The Hope Lodge is where Sam and a caregiver stayed while Sam underwent radiation treatments. The Hope Lodge is supported by the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life is an event to raise money for the American Cancer Society. I think the best part of the night was watching family and friends dance all night long. And I mean ALL night long! The later it got the more goofy they became. Our team ended up with the Spirit Award (not surprising), most money raised, and most money raised for a small business. Which means WE ROCKED for ACS! We plan on doing this again next year, so watch out!
